Karl Urban made his Hollywood debut in Ghost Ship (2002) and quickly gained recognition through major roles in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Bourne Supremacy, The Chronicles of Riddick, and Star Trek. A longtime fan of the franchise, he earned praise from audiences for his faithful portrayal of Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in Star Trek (2009) and its sequels. Urban has also starred in projects like Doom, Pathfinder, Comanche Moon, Red, Priest, and the critically acclaimed Dredd. He has also had roles in Almost Human, The Loft, Pete’s Dragon, Thor: Ragnarok, Acts of Vengeance, The Sea Beast, and even a cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Since 2019, he has starred as Billy Butcher in Amazon’s hit series The Boys. Urban is also set to play Johnny Cage in the upcoming Mortal Kombat II film.
