PLEASE NOTE THAT APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. We will open them soon. Please check back here for links and dates.
Specific instructions for media credential redemption will be provided by email. If you have any questions regarding media, please visit our Media Room, located in Room 2213, inside the 2200 Lobby of Bartle Hall.
Media Room Hours during the show are:
- Friday, March 21: 11:00 am – 5:00 pm (PCKC Show Hours: 1pm – 8pm)
- Saturday, March 22: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (PCKC Show Hours: 10am – 7pm)
- Sunday, March 23: 9:00 am – 11:00 am (PCKC Show Hours: 10am – 5pm)

Opportunities for celebrity and comic creator interviews are NOT included with your PCKC press credential. A press badge is provided as a courtesy to cover the event. You may not approach guests within the celebrity row to solicit for interviews, they must be arranged in advance. Requests may be sent to press@planetcomicon.com.
Press badges are non-transferable and non-resellable. Any individuals caught selling or transferring their press badge will be disqualified from attending Planet Comicon Kansas City current and future events. This is non-negotiable.
All holders of Press badges must adhere to the regular attendee rules and guidelines at all times as well as the additional rules for attending press:
Expectations and Rules for Press Badge Holders
- Members of the press must adhere to the PCKC Anti-Harassment Standards.
- Members of the press must adhere to all COVID-19/Health guidelines established for the event and ensure proper distancing is maintained at all times.
- No coverage may make fun of or at the expense of our attendees, guests, or exhibitors.
- Your Press Badge does not allow early access, special access, or guaranteed seating.
- Your Press Badge does not allow you to cut lines.
- Press will be admitted into panels as general admission as long as room capacity allows. There will not be a designated press entrance for panels, so please make your plans accordingly.
- Press can take photos or video during panels on a case by case basis. We ask that you be courteous to attendees while taking video or photos and avoid standing in front of other fans that are in attendance. Individual celebrities and agents have the right to deny photos and video during panels.
- No video or photos are allowed at any time on celebrity row.
- Press will have access to the floor 30 minutes early on Friday and Saturday
Press Categories (Must Fall Into One of These Categories)
DIGITAL MEDIA
You must fit the following criteria to be considered.
Digital Media:
- Website/Blog/Internet News/Podcast, preferably posting weekly content
- At least two verified social media pages such as Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, etc.
- 10,000+ unique monthly visitors.
- As a digital media applicant, the outlet must be operating and established for at least 18 months.
If you were approved for a PCKC Press Badge for the last event, you must submit your tear sheet with bylines for each individual who had been approved and picked up their badges.
PRINT MEDIA
You must fit the following criteria to be considered.
Print Media:
- Local/National/College Newspapers, Magazines, Weeklies, Periodicals, etc.
- Applying under the Print Media category, the outlet’s publication should currently be in distribution/circulation for at least 18 months.
- If you were approved for a PCKC Press Badge for the last event, you must submit your tear sheet.
BROADCAST MEDIA
You must fit the following criteria to be considered.
Broadcast Media:
- TV & Radio include AM, FM, Satellite, Local/Regional/National Television Stations and Radio Stations
- Applying under the Broadcast Media category, the outlet must be operating and established for at least 18 months.
- If you were approved for a PCKC Press Badge for the last event, you must submit your tear sheet.
PHOTOGRAPHERS
Photographers who are not under assignment from an editorial or news outlet are not eligible for press credentials.
