Deron Cherry is a former All-Pro safety who spent his entire NFL career (1981–1991) with the Kansas City Chiefs. A six-time Pro Bowler and three-time First-Team All-Pro, Cherry was known for his elite ball skills and leadership in the Chiefs’ secondary, finishing his career with 50 interceptions.

After retiring, he remained active in business and philanthropy in the Kansas City community through his Deron Cherry Foundation, which focuses on empowering underserved youth through educational programs, mentorship, and community support initiatives. Deron was elected to the Chiefs Hall of Honor in 1996.

Neil Smith is a former Pro Bowl defensive end best known for his dominant years with the Kansas City Chiefs from 1988 to 1996. A two-time Super Bowl champion and one of the most feared pass rushers of his era, Smith recorded 104.5 career sacks and was a key force on the Chiefs’ defense during the 1990s.

Today, Smith carries on the mission he started with his teammate and close friend, Derrick Thomas. The Derrick Thomas / Neil Smith Third and Long Foundation strives to “sack” illiteracy by providing the support necessary to improve reading skills of students in the Greater Kansas City area.
