Best Known for: Legends of Tomorrow, Star Wars: Force Awakens, Originals
Maisie Richardson-Sellers comes from a family of theatre actors in London. Prior to following in their footsteps, she studied at Oxford University, where she received a degree in Archeology and Anthropology.
In 2015, she made her film debut in 2015’s epic STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS directed by JJ Abrams playing, ‘Korr Sella’. From 2014 to 2017, Maisie took over from Claire Holt as ‘Rebekah mikaelson’ in the hugely popular CW vampire series THE ORIGINALS, as well as playing ’Eva Sinclair’. Following THE ORIGINALS, Maisie was cast in ABC’s OF KINGS AND PROPHETS, playing ‘Princess Michal’, daughter of ‘King Saul’ (Ray Winstone). Maisie then joined the cast of the US hit superhero series LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, starring as the superhero ’Vixen/Amaya Jiwe’ for two seasons, then taking on the brand new character of shape shifting rouge, ‘Charlie’ in seasons 4 to present.
Earlier this year, Maisie starred in her professional stage debut in the West End in, 3 WOMEN at the Trafalgar Studios, a dark comedy and debut play by Katy Brand. She has just wrapped filming the sequel of the highly popular Netflix Original film THE KISSING BOOTH, co-starring Joey King, Jacob Elordi and Joel Courtney, which will hit screens Spring 2020.
In addition to her acting work, Maisie is a fierce advocate and activist of women and LGBTQ+ rights. Along with a few of her DC Entertainment co-stars, Maisie founded Shethority, an online global collective with the goal of creating a positive, inspirational space for women to connect and communicate.
Maisie is also a director, having directed plays such as FOR COLORED GIRLS and CHATROOM, and her writing and screen directorial debut, SUNDAY’S CHILD will be released in Spring 2020.
