  • Planet Comicon Kansas City is Kansas City’s largest and longest-running comic book convention and pop culture expo.
  • The proper name for the event is Planet Comicon Kansas City or Planet Comicon Kansas City 2017.
  • Planet Comicon Kansas City is not affiliated with other conventions, including San Diego Comic-Con International or Kansas City Comic Con.
  • Planet Comicon Kansas City 2017 will be held at Bartle Hall on Friday April 28th, Saturday April 29th, and Sunday April 30th.
  • Planet Comicon Kansas City is operated by Christopher “Chris” Jackson of Overland Park, Kansas. His title is Founder and CEO.
  • Planet Comicon Kansas City features celebrity guests from film and television.
    • There will be a roster of 25 – 30 celebrity guests for our 2017 event. We will continue to announce additional celebrity guests as they are confirmed.
  • Planet Comicon Kansas City features creators from the worlds of comic books, animation, novels, video games, and other fan favorite media.
    • Planet Comicon’s Artists Alley will include more than 250 creators with up to 75 featured creators. We will continue to announce additional featured creators as they are confirmed.
  • Planet Comicon Kansas City will include three days of panels, performances, and celebrity Q&A sessions in multiple conference rooms and performance spaces. The most popular sessions will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Kansas City Convention Center with seating for approximately 3,000 fans.
  • In May 2016, Planet Comicon Kansas City had attendance of more than 70,000 people.
  • Our March 2016 event featured more than 600 vendors and artists. We are expanding our exhibit space for 2017 to include even more vendors, artists, and events.
  • Planet Comicon Kansas City was first held in 1999 at the Overland Park International Trade Center. The first event had only a few thousand attendees.
  • Our 2013 event was featured in two episodes of the Syfy television series Heroes of Cosplay.
