KANSAS CITY, MO — Planet Comicon, Kansas City’s biggest fan extravaganza, returns to Bartle Hall April 28-30, with a star-studded lineup featuring first-time guests and returning fan favorites.
One of the nation’s largest comic book and pop culture expos, Planet Comicon Kansas City will welcome first-timers Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy), John Barrowman (Arrow, Doctor Who) and wrestling legend “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair to the lineup of celebrities that will be signing autographs and taking pictures at the popular fan event.
With 70,000 attendees in 2016, Planet Comicon Kansas City draws legions of fans from the world of superheroes, science fiction, comics, television, movies, fantasy, animation and gaming, with acres of interactive exhibits, live art, costumes, performances and collectibles. “We’ve got some exciting guest announcements still to come,” said Planet Comicon Kansas City founder and CEO Christopher Jackson. “We’re working hard to deliver Planet Comicon fans the experience and memories they come to expect from our show. We strive to feature a great balance of comic book creators, celebrity guests, vendors, family activities, panel programming and cosplay events at Planet Comicon. Other celebrity guests already announced for Planet Comicon in 2017 include Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead), Anna Silk (Lost Girl), Summer Glau (Firefly, Arrow), Tara Reid (American Pie, Sharknado) and Teddy Sears (The Flash, 24: Legacy). Comic book creators slated to appear include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman and the creative team of DC Comics’ Harley Quinn, Chad Hardin, Amanda Conner, and Jimmy Palmiotti.
Admissions for Planet Comicon Kansas City are on-sale now and can be purchased at the Planet Comicon Kansas City website, www.planetcomicon.com. They will also be available at the door. Hotel Packages and discounted memberships for active duty military, teachers and librarians are also available through the Planet Comicon website.
